India is the land of kings, forts and monuments and these are the treasures of India. There are various castles in India which will introduce you to the beautiful Indian Architecture.  

  1. Taj Mahal ,Agra: Taj Mahal is one of the best monuments and is one of the wonders of the world. It was built by Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal on the banks of Yamuna river.  Taj Mahal is the epitome of love and romance. Sunrise gives the enthralling views of Taj Mahal. It is among the UNESCO world heritage sites. Come and walk along the pathway besides the reflecting pool.
  2. Red Fort, Delhi : Red Fort or Lal Quila is the most important historical buildings in India at Delhi. The fort is called a s red fort due to thick red sandstone walls. The Red Fort lies along the holy River of India. There is an Indian war memorial museum and archaeological museum  within the fort. It is the place where the prime minister of India raises the flag of India on  Republic day and Independence day.
  3. Amer Fort, Jaipur: Amer fort is one of the most popular sightseeing attraction. The fort is over 500 years old. The fort is located in Amer at a distance of 11km from Jaipur. The fort has influences  of both Hindu and Muslim architecture.  The  fort has shila devi temple and Ganesh pol which is the gate that leads to the private palace of the kings.  Enjoy Elephant ride and the view of the fort from lake at Amer fort.
  4. Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur: Mehrangarh fort is the largest fort in Rajasthan and is more than 500 years old. The Fort has seven gates which are built by each Maharaja’s for their victory. It is one of the favorite tourist destination in India. Chamunda Devi Temple and a well stocked Museum is located inside the Mehrangarh Fort.
  5. Jaisalmer Fort, Jaisalmer : It is the largest and second oldest fort in the state Rajasthan and is counted as one of the most impassable forts in India. Major attraction of the fort are royal palace, big gates and Jain temples.
